Chicago, IL (August 6, 2024) – According to officers with the Chicago Police Department, a woman was hit and killed by a semi-trailer truck after crossing the street on the Near West Side on Tuesday evening, August 6.
Police said that at 8:15 p.m., the truck was headed north on Ashland Avenue at Roosevelt Road when the woman was crossing at the intersection. She was hit by the truck, police said, and the woman was reportedly trapped under the truck. The woman was taken to Stroger Hospital of Cook County, where she later died.

Chicago, IL (August 6, 2024) – An early morning crash on I-90 caused a handful of victim injuries and massive delays for commuters on Tuesday, August 6.
According to officers with the Chicago Police Department, a two-vehicle crash involving a semi happened just before 5:00 a.m. on the inbound lanes of the Kennedy Expressway (Interstate 90) near Montrose.
