Jayaram is proud to announce that marketing executive and two-time founder Marie Berry has joined the company as Chief Marketing Officer.
Berry brings a wealth of experience gained from working with international brands as well as emerging startups, most recently serving as CMO & Operating Partner at global early-stage venture fund TheVentureCity. Her expertise in elevating visibility and storytelling across a breadth of industries, including fashion, tech, and startups, is poised to amplify Jayaram’s dynamic work, from legal counsel to creative programming.
Berry’s diverse professional endeavors mirror Jayaram’s intersections across the fields of fashion, technology, and arts & culture, where the company serves as an impactful collaborator and facilitator on various scales including legal services, content creation, and public programming. She began her career in marketing with adidas, working on campaigns across Europe, followed by several years leading marketing agencies under WPP for Ford and Chanel across Asia.
“Marie’s work with global brands and as a founder herself reflects the spirit of innovation and creativity that we seek to channel at Jayaram,” said Jayaram Founder, Vivek Jayaram. “Her wide scope of experience across fashion, technology, and entrepreneurship is a great match for our client portfolio and collaborations, and we are thrilled to have her on our team. We are close friends with big ideas, and we are ready to launch!”
Berry was also the founder of Kara Technology, a marketing automation platform which she exited in 2021, and Chinatown Bureau, a digital consultancy sold in 2020. Here, Berry honed her skills, developing software products and solutions in the rapidly evolving field of marketing. With widespread recognition for her work as an entrepreneur, she has been featured in Ad Age, Business Insider, Forbes, Inc. Magazine, NASDAQ, and other publications.
Fluent in five languages and having worked across multiple continents, Berry emphasizes creativity and adaptability, advancing brand profiles with a tailored approach and a multitude of audiences in mind. At Jayaram, she will uplift the firm’s positioning while also deepening connections with clients and community members.
“Marie is a tremendous talent and a wonderful person, and she’s joining Jayaram at a very exciting moment, as we continue to expand our ventures beyond traditional legal counsel,” said Jayaram CEO, Noah Ornstein. “Marie will play a pivotal role for Jayaram as we launch our first software products in the coming months, in elevating our live programming and partnerships, and, more broadly, in establishing Jayaram as a change agent for the legal industry in the U.S.”
“Today, creativity isn’t confined to traditional boundaries anymore. It’s a global force that shapes culture and drives innovation,” said Marie Berry. “Combining my marketing and entrepreneurial background, I’m eager to build at the intersection of art, tech, and business, ensuring Jayaram’s lasting impact on the cultural landscape.”
Reflecting her passion for the arts, Berry serves as an Innovation Board Member at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami (ICA Miami), celebrating artistic experimentation and innovation. She is also dedicated to supporting rising talents as an active angel investor and startup mentor, including through Dreamers & Doers, a network of female entrepreneurs of which she is a founding member.
