October 29, 2025 (Chicago, IL) – Hormel Foods Corporation of Austin, Minnesota, has issued a recall of around 4,874,815 lbs of frozen chicken breast and chicken thigh products after multiple reports of metal pieces found within the food products. To date, no illness or injury has been reported. The USDA has classed this as a Class I recall, meaning that the consumption of this recalled chicken product could lead to serious injury or death.

October 20th, 2025 (Chicago, IL) – VESTA.DS, Inc., of Ontario, California has recalled Gas-Fired Tankless Water Heaters due to the potential for carbon monoxide poisoning. A flaw can cause the exhaust duct to become cracked and allow poisonous gas to leak into the home. 

To date, over 33 reports of cracked exhaust ducts have been received, though no injuries from this unreasonably dangerous situation have been noted so far.

When a truck driver for the City of Chicago’s Public Library Department was injured unloading boxes of books, he reached out to Ankin Law for help.
