‘Like an auntie’ is how this client described his Ankin Law attorney

We always like to hear how our clients describe their Ankin Law attorney at the conclusion of their case.

Marsean W. had one way to describe his lawyer – and it’s quite unique.

“Like an auntie,” is how he described Attorney Raquel Gross and the work she did for him after a hit-and-run in which he suffered a few injuries.

So why would he say that?

“I can tell that she’s gonna fight for you,” said Marsean. “She’s going to really go to bat and she’s going to

Since 1997, Attorney Howard Ankin has set the standard which law is practiced at our firm.

That’s taking a client’s case personally and professionally, a credo that’s emblazoned on everything that features the Ankin Law logo.

What’s made this effective is the way in which it’s passed down from generation to generation of attorneys and legal assistants.

Now Howard along with other lawyers and staff at Ankin Law are sharing the lessons they’ve learned through the years with all those who are training in the legal field.

That’s why we’ve started our “Advice for Young Lawyers and Legal Assistants” segment

This is a simple case that we’ve heard many times – and many times we’ve turned the tide in favor of a client.

A man was driving and was involved in an accident involving a semi-truck, suffered damage to the automobile and was dealing with pain. At first, he thought about going on his own to deal with the insurance company, but that didn’t go anywhere.

That’s when he came to Ankin Law, and we were able to set things right.

Attorney Geoff Jacobs would end up representing this person and he told the story of this particular case in

July 17th, 2025 (Chicago, IL) – Walmart has recalled approximately 850,000 Ozark Trail stainless steel water bottles due to a dangerous lid defect that may cause serious injuries, including permanent vision loss. The faulty lids can forcibly eject when consumers attempt to open the bottles after carbonated beverages, food, or certain perishable liquids are stored inside them. This can lead to serious impact or laceration injuries.

To date, at least three people have been injured, including two individuals who permanently lost vision after being struck in the eye by an ejecting lid.

People with these dietary restrictions

From our receptionists to law clerks, legal assistants to lawyers, everyone has their own journey to Ankin Law.

Attorney Maria Merman’s began on a different continent, thousands of miles away from the “Windy City.”

Outside of her undergraduate education studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Maria has centered her practice in her new home. A graduate of UIC Law, she practiced at a

We began to do that immediately when it came to getting the proper care along with money while she was off. Maria said that John was there immediately when checks stopped coming or treatments were put on
