Chicago, IL (November 1, 2024) – An Illinois State Police (ISP) officer was involved in a crash in which their squad car was hit around 11:40 p.m. on Tuesday evening, October 29.
The Illinois State Police said a marked squad car was parked in the left lane of Interstate 55 near Joliet Road, providing traffic control for a previous crash. A vehicle driven by a Chicago man was traveling northbound on Interstate 55 and allegedly failed to yield, striking the rear passenger side of the squad car.
