Decatur, IL (October 31, 2024) – A motorcyclist was airlifted after a crash in Decatur on Wednesday night, October 30.
At 8:05 p.m., Decatur Police Department officers were called to the intersection of Oakland Avenue and Marietta Street for a crash. Police said the driver of the car started to turn left to go east on Marietta, coming from the southbound side of Oakland, and collided with the operator of the motorcycle.
The driver of the car, a 46-year-old Decatur man, was not injured. However, in the interim, the officers are investigating the accident and have not said whether citations or charges are pending. Witnesses were asked to come forward right away.
