McLean County, IL (July 4, 2024) – Illinois State Police troopers and the McLean County Coroner said an 8-year-old is dead after a multi-vehicle crash occurred on Wednesday night on Interstate 74.
Illinois State Police say the crash happened in the westbound lanes of I-74 near mile marker 139 between Bloomington and Downs just before 10:00 p.m. State Police say that a passenger car was involved in a collision with a delivery van and a semi. The drivers of the car and delivery van were taken to an area hospital by ambulance with serious injuries. The 8-year-old was a passenger in the car, and they were pronounced dead at the scene. In the meantime, the collision is still being investigated.
