Chicago, IL (November 19, 2024) – One person was killed after a crash on the city’s South Side on Tuesday, November 19, police said.
The crash happened at about 2:10 a.m. in the 7700 block of S. Vincennes Avenue in the Gresham neighborhood. At least five people were involved in the incident, and a man riding in the backseat of one of the vehicles died at the scene. He has not been identified by police.
One of the drivers, a 19-year-old man, broke his femur and hip. He was taken to the hospital in serious condition. Another 18-year-old male passenger was taken to the hospital with multiple cuts, and a 22-year-old man was also taken to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries; both are expected to recover. However, local officers announced the investigation is ongoing, and no further information will be released at this time.
