Kingston Township, IL (October 26, 2024) – A rollover crash between two vehicles sent seven people to the hospital on Wednesday morning, October 24.
Just after 8:00 a.m., the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office responded to the intersection of Cherry Valley Road and Kingston Road for a crash involving a Jeep and a semi-tractor. Officials say the Jeep hit the side of the semi, and the driver of the semi swerved and rolled into a ditch. The semi-truck driver, identified only as an adult male, was airlifted from the scene. The driver of the Jeep, identified as a 32-year-old Belvidere woman, was taken to a hospital in Rockford.
The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office reports there were five children in the Jeep at the time of the crash. Officials say the children had no visible injuries but were taken to the hospital for observation. That said, police provided no additional information in the meantime; however, citations may be pending, and the local police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Our thoughts are extended to the injured victims and their loved ones. We hope for their full recovery at this time.
