A deadly car accident claimed the lives of two people early Tuesday morning in Blue Island, Illinois, prompting an ongoing investigation by local authorities.

According to police, officers responded around 5 a.m. to reports of a crash near the intersection of 136th Street and Western Avenue. When emergency crews arrived at the scene, they discovered that two individuals had died as a result of the collision.
