A serious crash in Marquette Park early Monday morning left one person dead and three others injured on Chicago’s Southwest Side. The collision occurred on Mann Drive within the park near Kedzie Avenue during the early morning hours.
Authorities said the vehicle involved in the crash was found severely damaged and overturned against a tree. Emergency crews from the Chicago Fire Department responded to the scene and had to cut off the roof of the car to rescue the trapped occupants.
Officials confirmed that one person inside the vehicle died at the scene. Another victim was transported to a nearby hospital in serious-to-critical condition, while two others were taken to the hospital with injuries described as fair-to-serious.
Reports also indicated that a child was among those injured in the crash and was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital for treatment.
Authorities have not yet released additional details about the victims, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
