At Rincker Law, PLLC, family law is never “just a case.” It’s a turning point in someone’s life; often happening alongside uncertainty, fear, financial pressure, and big decisions about children and the future.
That’s why our firm is built around two things that don’t always coexist in modern law practice:
- Sophisticated legal strategy, and
- Unreasonable hospitality: the kind of service where clients feel seen, supported, and protected from day one.
As our Family Law practice grows throughout Central Illinois, we’re looking to add a Family Law Associate Attorney (1–5 years’ experience) who wants to build real courtroom skill, develop confidence in complex matters, and do it inside a technology-forward firm that values both performance and people.
A Family Law Practice Built for Mid to High Net Worth Matters in Central Illinois
Rincker Law is rooted in Central Illinois — with offices in Shelbyville and Champaign — and we serve clients throughout the region in family law matters ranging from uncontested proceedings to contested litigation.
Our work includes:
- Dissolution of marriage (with and without children)
- Allocation of parental responsibilities and parenting time
- Prenuptial agreements
- Post-decree matters and related family law proceedings
- Mid to high-net-worth cases where strategy, discretion, and strong advocacy matter
Family law clients want more than a legal technician. They want a steady advocate who can take control of the process, communicate clearly, and guide them forward with confidence.
That is the standard we hold ourselves to and the standard we train our team to deliver.
The Kind of Attorney Who Thrives Here
We’re not looking for perfection. We’re looking for the right mindset.
This is a strong fit for an attorney who is:
- Motivated and self-directed
- Hungry to improve litigation and courtroom skills
- Strong in writing and communication
- Comfortable with accountability and measurable goals
- Open to mentorship and feedback
- Interested in practicing in Central Illinois courts (even if you’re newer to them)
Family law experience is preferred, but we’re especially interested in attorneys who want to grow into a stronger litigator with support from experienced practitioners.
Why This Role Offers More Than “Just Another Associate Job”
Many family law positions ask associates to produce without providing structure. Or they bury attorneys in administrative tasks that don’t build legal ability.
We do it differently.
Mentorship that’s actually mentorship
You’ll receive guidance from senior attorneys, not just assignments. We’re intentional about helping attorneys develop skills that matter: courtroom readiness, strategy, client management, and execution.
A technology-forward workflow
We leverage modern tools so attorneys can spend more time on analysis, advocacy, and client outcomes — and less time on chaos.
Our technology stack includes:
- NetDocuments
- Cosmolex
- Asana
- Family law case analysis/calculation tools
- Microsoft 365
- Lawmatics
- Adobe DC
No prior experience with these tools is required. What matters is a willingness to learn.
Remote or Hybrid Flexibility
This role can be remote or hybrid from Shelbyville or Champaign, with full-time or part-time options, designed for attorneys who want a sustainable practice without sacrificing growth.
A Firm Rooted in Farm Values (With Modern Systems)
Rincker Law is a multi-state firm, but our foundation is Central Illinois and the values that come with it: integrity, responsibility, and doing what you say you’ll do.
We’re also KPI-driven, because clarity matters. We believe performance metrics can be healthy when they’re paired with real support, strong systems, and clear expectations. In this role, attorneys are expected to work toward firm goals, including revenue generation aligned with a 3.5x employee cost benchmark.
That transparency is part of what makes the culture stable: people know what success looks like, and they have the tools to achieve it.
Compensation, Benefits, and Culture
This position offers:
- Competitive hourly compensation structure
- Origination bonuses
- Blue Cross Blue Shield health insurance (after 90 days)
- 401(k) with John Hancock with up to 3% match (after 6 months)
- Paid court holidays
- A supportive environment focused on growth, accountability, and work-life balance
If You’re Looking for a Place to Grow, Let’s Talk
If you’re an attorney with 1–5 years of experience and you want to build a family law practice with mentorship, flexibility, and modern systems — we’d love to hear from you.
