7 people were hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash early Thursday morning in Chicago, according to authorities. Police said the collision occurred around 3:48 a.m. in the 0–100 block of North LaSalle Drive on the city’s Near North Side. Investigators reported that a red Honda was traveling eastbound when it ran a solid red traffic signal and struck another vehicle in the intersection.
Three occupants of the Honda—two 21-year-old men and a 20-year-old woman—were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital for treatment. The driver of the second vehicle, a 38-year-old man, was also transported to Northwestern. Three additional passengers from that vehicle, two men ages 23 and 30 and a 29-year-old woman, were taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital. Police said all seven individuals were stabilized, and their conditions were not immediately known. No citations were issued, and the cause of the crash remains under review.
