We’re a firm of music lovers here at Jayaram. We’ve always got a playlist going in our Miami and New York studios, and Slack discussions of weekend plans often include at least one show or music lesson.

But there’s something about a summer playlist that hits different—the mix of nostalgic favorites and new hits that help us while away the longest, most leisurely days of the year. Here, our team members Kelly and Palak share the mix of new and old tunes that they’ve had on repeat during summer road trips, beach days and barbecues.

1. “Slow Burn” by Kacey Musgraves

Kacey Musgraves’ newest album, “Deeper Well,” is the soundtrack to a lazy warm weather day, but it’s “Slow Burn” from “Golden Hour” that’s the perfect soundtrack to your golden hours.

2. “Wish You Were Here” by Pink Floyd:

Some argue that this is their saddest song, but 50 years later, it still tops my “most played” playlists.

3. Don’t Look Back in Anger” by Oasis

The Gallagher brothers sang “Step outside, summertime’s in bloom” and now we’re all watching their reunion tour this spring and summer.

4. “Us” by Gracie Abrams (feat. Taylor Swift)

Gracie Abrams’ songwriting skills put her miles ahead of her peers—and miles ahead of some industry vets too.

5. “Go Your Own Way” by Fleetwood Mac

“Rumours” has gained some traction lately thanks to social media trends, and few albums deserve a resurgence more. This may be a breakup song, but the upbeat tune keeps it on the warm weather rotation.

6 . “Without Fear” by Dermot Kennedy

Irish musician Dermot Kennedy has been getting the praise he deserves in America—lyrically, few modern musicians compare to his “Without Fear” album.

7. “Thank You” by Led Zeppelin

A little more mellow than some of their other songs, making it a perfect fit for your sunrise walk.

8. “Dawns” by Zach Bryan (feat. Maggie Rogers)

These two artists should collaborate for the rest of their lives.

9. “Free Fallin’ (Live)” by John Mayer

Ending on a cover? Bold move, but name another cover that packs a punch in the same way as the original.

1. “Lunch” by Billie Eilish

Her whole album is amazing, but this track stands out as one of my favorites. It’s the kind of song that instantly puts you in a good mood.

2. “Luther” by Kendrick Lamar and Sza

Ever since Kendrick’s electric Super Bowl performance, I’ve had this on repeat. The beat is addictive, and with SZA in the mix, it’s an instant favorite.

3. “Just in Case” by Morgan Wallen

This track is classic Morgan Wallen with its catchy, down- to-earth vibe that’s easy to sing along to. It’s got me even more excited for the full album release.

4. “Go Back” by John Summit and Julia Church

My husband loves house music, so this has been on constant repeat as the weather warms up. It’s the perfect track for grilling, hanging outside, or just setting the right vibe for the day.

5. “Don’t Wanna Cry” by Selena Gomez & Benny Blanco

Benny Blanco has been the underrated force behind some of the biggest hits over the years, and this collaboration with Selena Gomez is particularly special. Their connection adds a unique chemistry to the entire album, but this track stands out as my personal favorite.
