Is there any more perfect marriage than that of a flawless record and an iconic album cover? Far from just LP delivery vehicles, album covers have become a medium for musicians to further express their vision, often in collaboration with some of the world’s most famous visual artists.
From the Velvet Underground’s banana à la Warhol to a purple-suited Prince astride a motorcycle, from Biggie’s baby stand-in to The Beatles crossing Abbey Road, the most enduring albums are as visually striking as they are sonically significant.
