Motor Vehicle Collisions in Illinois

Major collisions and multi-vehicle incidents are a daily occurrence in Chicago’s and the country’s thoroughfares and expressways, and hundreds of drivers are involved in these incidents. Most of these crashes usually fall under the category of normal fender-benders, which often cause only little property damage and minor injuries that may be rectified with little action. Nonetheless, it is also true that some accidents result in deaths or serious injuries because of another driver’s carelessness and negligence.

Chicago’s three million citizens go to and from work and school, do errands, and visit the city’s many attractions daily. Regretfully, some people do not reach their destinations safely. Over 270 vehicle collisions occur in Chicago every day, meaning one incident happens every five to six minutes. In addition to the hundreds of individuals who lose their lives in car crashes each year, countless more sustain serious injuries.
