Turning a negative into a positive has become his specialty and is the reason the organization he runs is even in existence.
When a little league group he was involved with disbanded, LaVont’e Stewart Sr. wanted a way to continue to help the youth of the South Shore community. So he started “Lost Boyz Inc.” in 2008 – an organization to provide mentorship to kids through organized baseball and fast pitch softball.
Sixteen years later, Lost Boyz. Inc. is going strong. The organization has branched out into Chicago communities, helping children continue to grow in a number of aspects in their lives.
“We’ve built something really different – and I think folks need to see,” said Stewart of the organization.
