Chicago, IL (November 30, 2024) – A fatal hit-and-run crash took place on the west side of Chicago Wednesday night, November 27, and authorities have since released further details from their investigation.
According to Chicago Police Department officers, the collision occurred in the 1300 block of South Central Park Avenue in North Lawndale shortly before 7:00 p.m. The 44-year-old victim was struck by an SUV that was traveling south on Central Park Avenue while he was walking in the intersection. The victim, who has not yet been identified, sustained severe injuries in the collision and was subsequently declared deceased at the hospital.
Chicago police provided additional information on Thursday regarding the vehicle that is suspected to have been involved in the ongoing search for the perpetrator. Officers say the vehicle was a 2012 Kia Sorento four-door SUV with an Illinois license plate and number of EB88421.
In the meantime, officers still ask anyone with information regarding the fatal crash to contact the CPD Major Accident Investigation Unit. However, no further details were released, and the CPD’s investigation remains active.
