Chicago, IL (October 15, 2024) – According to local officers, the Eisenhower Expressway lanes reopened in both directions after a fatal crash in the Maywood area, just outside of Chicago proper, on October 14.
Just before 4:20 a.m., Illinois State Police said a car hit a man near 17th Avenue. Police confirmed the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the site, though no other injuries were reported. Detectives from the Major Accident Unit are conducting an investigation. However, per officers, no further details were released, and witnesses were asked to come forward as soon as possible.
