Tinley Park, IL (September 15, 2024) – According to troopers with the Illinois State Police who responded to the incident, two people were killed in a crash on Interstate 80 in the south suburbs early Sunday morning, September 15.
The crash involved an SUV and a semi, ISP said. What led up to the collision was not immediately clear, but two people were pronounced dead at the site. All westbound lanes were closed at the scene, and the Harlem Avenue ramp was also shut down. All lanes have since reopened.
ISP did not immediately provide further information about the crash. However, witnesses who had additional information about the incident were asked to contact officers right away, and an investigation is still ongoing.
