Coles County, IL (September 27, 2024) – According to troopers with the Illinois State Police, one person is dead after a crash in Coles County. The crash happened on Westfield Road near 2400 East Road on Friday, September 27, around 1:45 p.m. Illinois State Police said one driver was pronounced dead on the scene from a two-car crash.
Shortly thereafter, Coles County Sheriff’s Office deputies confirmed that Westfield Road was closed from 2400 East Road to Route 49. Officials asked drivers to avoid the area. However, no other details were released, and an investigation remains ongoing at this time.
