Hurst, IL (July 6, 2024) – A driver died in a crash involving a garbage truck on Saturday morning. The crash occurred at around 11:55 a.m. on Saturday, July 6, by the intersection of Illinois State Route 149 and Lockeyville Road in Hurst.
According to information from the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, investigators believe a garbage truck driving south on Route 149 lost control and crashed with an SUV driving north. Officials say the driver of the SUV was declared dead on the scene. The Illinois State Police’s Commercial Vehicle Officer and Accident Reconstruction Department are assisting with the investigation.
