Collinsville, IL (July 8, 2024) – Multiple people were injured in a two-vehicle crash on Saturday morning on Interstate 55 near Collinsville.
According to Illinois State Police, the crash occurred around 10:30 a.m. on I-55 at milepost 8. The agency released preliminary information about its investigation on Saturday. State troopers determined a GMC truck traveling in the left lane struck the rear of a passenger car, but they don’t know why. The crash remained under investigation on Saturday evening.
At least two people were hospitalized, but the names of those involved in the crash weren’t released. Meanwhile, the local authorities are investigating the accident, and witnesses were asked to get in touch. No new information has been disclosed. However, the inquiry is still underway.
