Chicago, IL (July 13, 2024) – A wrong-way driver ran into another car and crashed into a building on Friday, July 12, in the Burnside area on Chicago’s South Side.
The vehicle was going southbound in a northbound lane around 3:00 a.m. when it hit another car and then crashed into a building in the 9000 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue, police said.
The driver of the other vehicle suffered injuries and was transported to Advocate Trinity Hospital in fair condition. The wrong-way driver was transported to the University of Chicago Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition. However, officers are still investigating and no other injuries or other details related to the incident have been reported thus far.
