Chicago, IL (July 17, 2024) – The north suburbs saw traffic delays on Wednesday morning on the Edens Expressway after a major truck crash, per local authorities.

A semi and a car crashed around 5:30 a.m. on the outbound lanes of I-94 between Golf Road and Old Orchard Road, according to Illinois State Police. As a result of the crash, the semi overturned on the expressway. All lanes were shut down around 6:00 a.m. However, law enforcement was allowing traffic to move along on the shoulder.

Authorities added that all traffic was being diverted off I-94 at Old Orchard while crews worked to remove the truck from the highway around 7:00 a.m. Per local news footage, EMTs assessed and transported at least one person to a nearby hospital. No new information has been disclosed at this time; that said, an investigation continues at this time.
