Chicago, IL (July 20, 2024) – According to Chicago Police Department officers, one person has died, and three others were hospitalized after a CTA bus and vehicle collided, sending the bus crashing into a building in the city’s Little Village neighborhood early Saturday morning.
Police said an 18-year-old man was driving westbound in the 4000 block of West 26th Street around 4:00 a.m. when he failed to stop at a red light and hit a CTA bus traveling northbound, causing it to veer off the road and slam into a storefront, where it came to a rest. Per officers, one person died, and three women were hospitalized. Though no further details were released, an investigation is still ongoing and is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
Our thoughts are extended to the injured victims and their loved ones. We hope for their full recovery at this time.
