Chicago, IL (July 2, 2024) – According to Chicago Police Department officers, eleven people were taken to various hospitals after a crash involving a CTA bus on Tuesday, July 2.

The crash happened Tuesday morning at 76th Street and South Lafayette Avenue in the city’s West Chatham neighborhood. Chicago Fire Department (CFD) said the eleven victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries, adding that almost all of the patients were passengers on the bus. Three people were in fair condition, and eight were in good condition, CFD stated. The ambulances transferred victims to OSF Little Company of Mary Medical Center, University of Chicago Medical Center, St. Bernard Hospital, and Jackson Park Hospital & Medical Center. Even though no further details were released, an investigation is still ongoing and is being managed by local law enforcement officials.

Our thoughts are extended to the injured victims and their loved ones. We hope for their full recovery at this time.
