Buffalo Grove, IL (July 23, 2024) – One person is dead following a fire Monday in an attached garage of a house in Buffalo Grove, authorities said. Buffalo Grove firefighters responded to the home in the 600 block of Woodhollow Lane at around 10:20 a.m., officials said.

First responders encountered heavy flames in the garage that were spreading to the house and began an interior attack with hose lines to both the garage and house, per a fire department news release. One occupant was located in the home during a search, officials added, though later pronounced dead at the scene. It’s unclear if anyone else was injured. No details were released about the cause of the fire, though it was still being investigated as of Thursday.
