Chicago, IL (June 18, 2024) – Two people were taken into custody after a hit-and-run crash on the city’s Northwest Side on Monday, June 17, according to Chicago police, and at least two others were injured in the incident.

The crash happened in the 5000 block of Grace Street around 10:55 p.m. in the Portage Park neighborhood, police said. A driver in a black SUV crashed into five other cars and an apparent semi-truck before flipping over. A witness told police they saw a man and a woman run away after crashing into the cars, according to police. Both were found in the area and were taken into custody. No charges have been announced so far. Meanwhile, the local authorities are investigating the accident, and witnesses were asked to get in touch. No new information has been disclosed. However, the inquiry is still underway.
