Chicago, IL (June 19, 2024) – Two people are dead, and two others are seriously injured after a rollover crash on the Southwest Side on Sunday, June 16, officials said.

Chicago police said the crash happened at about 5:00 a.m. in the Little Village neighborhood at West 26th Street and South California Boulevard. All of the victims are adults, and the two people who have died were passengers in the vehicles involved in the crash. Police on Sunday morning said one person was taken in serious condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

Three other people were transported to John H. Jr. Stroger Hospital in serious condition, the Chicago Fire Department informed. Police said later Sunday afternoon that one of those victims was pronounced dead. No information concerning the causes of the crash has been disclosed thus far. However, local authorities continue the investigation, and citations may be pending.
