Benton, IL (June 20, 2024) – Six people were injured in a crash in Franklin County, Illinois, on Wednesday night, June 19.
The crash happened just after 8:00 p.m. at the South Stuyvesant Street and Summer Road intersection, just east of the Benton City limits. According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado was going east on Summer, approaching the intersection of Stuyvesant, and a 2007 Toyota Camry was going northbound when the two collided. Officials say six people were taken to area and regional hospitals; three were airlifted, and three were taken by ambulance. No additional information was available as officials investigated, though citations may be pending.
