Algonquin, IL (June 30, 2024) – A serious car head-on collision on Saturday night in Algonquin, and two drivers sustained serious injuries following. The incident occurred around 9:43 p.m. on Randall Rd just north of Harnish Dr.
According to Algonquin police, a white sedan traveling southbound on Randall Rd lost control near Bunker Hill Dr. The sedan struck the curb, crossed the center median, and collided head-on with a dark-colored SUV heading northbound from Harnish Dr. A third vehicle suffered collateral damage in the crash.
Both drivers involved in the head-on collision were transported to the hospital with serious injuries by the Algonquin Lake in the Hills Fire District.
Randall Rd was closed to traffic in both directions from Harnish Dr to Bunker Hill Dr for approximately four hours as authorities investigated the scene.
The Algonquin Police Department, in collaboration with the Kane County Crash Assistance Response Team, continues to investigate the incident.
