Swansea, IL (May 3, 2024) – According to authorities, one person was killed and three others were injured in a three-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon in Swansea, Illinois.
The crash happened around 5:00 p.m. around the 2400 block of Illinois Route 159. Swansea police Chief Matthew Blomberg said one person was killed, and the St. Clair County Coroner’s Office identified her Friday as 27-year-old Karlie Langley of Smithton. Blomberg said that a second person was airlifted to a St. Louis hospital while two others were privately driven to a hospital in Illinois. The roadway between Fullerton and Old Fullerton roads was closed for about three hours while police investigated the crash, but no further details were released.
