Chicago, IL (May 1, 2024) – A portion of Route 132 eastbound was shut down on Wednesday, May 1, as local officers investigated a multi-vehicle crash.

At around 5:30 p.m., the Chicago Police Department said Route 132/Grand Avenue was closed between Milwaukee Avenue and Kilbourn Road due to a serious crash with injuries. Video captured at the scene showed two vehicles that appeared to have been involved in the crash, including one that was heavily damaged. Drivers were asked to avoid the area as police remained on scene. As of Wednesday evening, specifics on injuries and information about what led up to the crash hadn’t been released, though an investigation is ongoing.
