Wheeling, IL (April 27, 2024) – An accident occurred in Wheeling late on Thursday, resulting in the fatality of one person and requiring firefighters to extricate two others.
At 10:25 p.m., the Wheeling Fire Department was dispatched to the intersection of Northgate Parkway and Lake Cook Road in response to a motor vehicle accident involving entrapment, as reported by the Wheeling Police Department. When units arrived five minutes later, they discovered two severely damaged vehicles.
Two patients were medically treated and extricated by personnel of the fire department, but one patient succumbed to their injuries at the hospital. No further details were released, but an investigation is ongoing.
