Chicago, IL (April 19, 2024) – An SUV hit a motorcyclist on Thursday night on the Southwest Side of Chicago, leaving the motorcyclist in critical condition, per local authorities.

Chicago police officers responded to a vehicle collision in the 2400 block of West 87th Street at approximately 8:20 p.m. According to preliminary information, a gray SUV traveling northbound on Western attempted to make a left-hand turn onto 87th Street when it collided with a southbound motorcyclist.

The SUV’s driver, a 42-year-old man, suffered minor injuries and refused transport to a medical center. Meanwhile, authorities say that the motorcyclist was critically injured, and EMTs transported him to a nearby hospital.
