Chicago, IL (April 9, 2024) – Early on Sunday morning, a house fire on the city’s West Side resulted in a man’s injuries and displaced several other residents.
According to officers with the Chicago Police Department, the fire started in the 800 block of North St. Louis Avenue around midnight. Around 12:45 a.m., members of the Chicago police department and fire department responded to the blaze. A 59-year-old man was ultimately rescued from the flames by Chicago fire rescue units. He was transferred to Stroger Hospital in fair condition despite having burn injuries over his body, per officers. The house fire also caused three other individuals to be displaced, though it’s unclear if they were also hurt. An investigation to determine the fire’s cause is ongoing.
