Can America Age Gracefully?
The United States has long been viewed as a young nation; however, by 2034, more Americans will be over 65 than there are children. As American society ages, it is being transformed with different needs.

The Social Security Act was passed in 1935 to ensure that older people would not die destitute when they could no longer work. However, longer life expectancy affects what America’s future will look like. Countries like Japan offer a hint of what this future might look like.
