Long Island sisters sue funeral homes allegedly responsible for burying stranger instead of their loved one

FuneralSisters Stacy Holzman and Megan Zaner filed a $60 million lawsuit against the funeral homes who say they buried the wrong man in their father’s grave, wearing their father’s clothes.

The women claim that Fletcher Funeral and Cremation Service in Fountain Inn, South Carolina, mistakenly sent the remains of a stranger to Long Island, where he was to be buried in their family plot at Mount Ararat Cemetery. When the family asked to see their father one last time, they noticed something was wrong. They did not recognize the man in the coffin.

“I just feel so wronged,” Megan told Fox 5 NY.” You trust these people. You don’t know what you’re doing, this doesn’t happen every day. We lose our dad once in our life.”
