Baker Sterchi Member Jennifer Maloney has been honored with the 2022 Illinois Defense Counsel (IDC) President’s Award. Baker Sterchi Member and IDC President, Laura Beasley, presented Maloney with the award at the recent IDC Annual Meeting and Awards Luncheon held at the East Bank Club in Chicago.

“I am honored to receive the President’s Award from the IDC, especially from Laura Beasley, who has been a close friend and colleague for many years,” said Maloney. “It has truly been an honor to support her endeavors to push the defense bar forward in progressive and relevant ways and to always advocate for civility in a practice that sometimes forgets the virtue.”

Maloney has spent her career advocating for businesses and insurance companies, primarily in premises liability, product liability, personal injury, and transportation matters. She is also experienced in toxic tort, pharmaceutical liability, construction, and nursing home litigation. In addition, she often serves as local counsel in complex commercial and class action litigation and as an arbitrator in UI/UIM claims.

The IDC was organized in 1964 with a mission to advance the interests of the defense bar by ensuring civil justice with integrity, civility, and professional competence. It currently has 600 members.
