As a Rocket Matter user, one of the things that I love about the service is that they are constantly improving the product, both in big and small ways. In March, they added project management capabilities. I really like those features and have definitely incorporated those into my flat fee work. Today, Rocket Matter has announced their latest upgrade Braavos.
It looks like they have increased their responsiveness dramatically. This is something that I am always glad to see. They have also increased the speed at which batch billing occurs. I love the batch billing feature and use it all of the time. The fact that the speed has increased does not affect me significantly (I am a solo, there are only so many bills I run at a time). However, even for realtively small firms, and increase in speed has to be welcomed.
The other big improvement appears to be an optional add on module for defense firms. This appears to make it much easier to comply with LEDES billing from anywhere within the program. Also, the software will identify potential problems with LEDES billings. Fortunately, I don’t have to deal with LEDES billing, so this particular module holds no real interest for me. However, I think it bodes really well for other add-on modules that might be coming down the pike.
I don’t know what may be around the corner, but I love doing business with a company that is always looking to the future and trying to develop products to allow us to focus more on our legal work and less on the back end administration. It looks like Braavos is designed to do exactly this.
